Splash in Style at the Best North County San Diego Resort Pools

best resort hotel pools san diego

Who says you need to go straight to the beach to cool off ? Avoid the weekend crowds and keep the sand out of your car by heading to one of these North County San Diego resort pools to cool off and maybe even make a splash!

Note: Access to the pools are for hotel guests, so if you want to float, you’ll have to get a room. But you needed a staycation anyway.

L’Auberge Del Mar Resort

Once you walk into the lobby at L’Auberge Del Mar, you know you’re going to have a luxurious experience. By the time you get to the pool, you’re mentally ready for the precious float time. Splash in the pool, chill at the bar, or hang out in a private VIP cabana… it’s up to you! Because the hotel is just steps to the beach, you’ll still be able to catch that stunning sunset over the water, sans sand.

Fairmont Grand Del Mar Resort

With four swimming pools, a 50 square foot jacuzzi, and water features throughout the property, the Fairmont Grand Del Mar feels like you’ve been transported to a swanky European retreat. The pools feature vanishing edges, underwater speakers, private cabanas and a friendly outdoor pool bar, complete with a flat-screen televisions and cool cocktails.

Access to the pool is exclusively for resort members and overnight guests (and up to two outside guests per room), unless you book a spa treatment, which comes with access to the adults-only pool.

La Costa Resort

Probably the first resort most North County folks think of when it comes to a day at the pool, Omni La Costa Resort is the ultimate family-friendly resort in this part of San Diego. That’s because the resort is an aquatic paradise! The resort boasts eight pool areas, including: Edge Adult Pool and Terrace, offering panoramic views of the golf course and valley, fire pits and fountains, and plush cabanas; the relaxing oasis of the Garden Pools, with two heated pools and two Jacuzzis; the Sandy Beach Family Pool, where you can build a sand castle and enjoy lunch in a private cabana;  and, of course, the family favorite, Splash Landing Pool with fun water play features and slides throughout.
