Breakfast at the Beach in Carlsbad

Breakfast at the Beach in Carlsbad

Carlsbad is a charming coastal town that is home to some of the best breakfast spots in North County.

Many are located within walking distance of the beach and hotels.

Here are five breakfast spots close to the beach in Carlsbad that will satisfy your morning appetite.

Café Elysa

A Charming little breakfast spot in the village that began as a coffee and pastry shop and has evolved into a fully fledged breakfast and lunch spot. Grab a cup of joe before you head out on your stroll along the sea wall or sit down for lunch on the patio after a morning run at the beach.

Café Topes

Café Topes, located on Roosevelt St serves breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Sunday. Locals can’t rave enough about their cinnamon rolls. Menu fare is hearty and delicious. As is par for the course in Carlsbad, there’s an outdoor patio dining area. A “living” succulent wall provides unique atmosphere inside.

Vinaka Café

Located on the second level of the Carlsbad Village Faire shopping center, Vinaka Café serves organic coffee, espresso, pastries, sandwiches, smoothies, and even ice cream. There is inside and outside dining areas, free wi-fi and a delightful view of the courtyard and fountain from the patio.

Al’s Café in the Village

Al’s is a traditional diner spot in the heart of the village. Al’s serves up a variety of breakfast fare including omelets, steak and eggs, french toast and waffles. We think you’ll love the bottomless mimosas and the fact that kids under 10 eat free.

Cessy’s Taco Shop

While you won’t find a breakfast menu listed on their website, but locals can tell you Cessy’s is a great place to grab a really good breakfast burrito. Cessy’s is located very close to the beach.
