We all know that Halloween is about candy, but what if your kids are more incentivized by money than sweets? My oldest son forgets about his Halloween candy after a few days and I know he would much rather “sell” his candy for money he can use towards other things, like saving up for his favorite video game or going to spend his cash at the local arcade.
Great Smiles Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is all about encouraging kids to keep their teeth healthy, and of course, that means not overdoing it with the Halloween candy. They’re hosting a Halloween candy buyback program this year, offering $1.00 for every pound of candy that gets turned in. They can even turn this into a fun challenge to earn money for a classroom pizza party if they’d like!
Whether your child is a patient at the Encinitas office, Solana Beach location, or not a patient of theirs at all, they can still participate.
When kids drop off candy, they can say what school and teacher they have. The 10 classes that donate the most candy are going to win a pizza party. Even more, whichever school has the most amount of candy donated on its behalf will win a $500 donation. Any person under 18 can donate candy, with a maximum of 5 lbs per child. They don’t have to be Great Smiles patients or even say what school/class they attend (unless they want their quantity to count towards the contest).
You’d be surprised at how quickly that candy adds up after an hour or two of trick or treating. If your kids are anything like mine, they’ll want to come home after a walk through the neighborhood, pour their collected candy across the floor and evaluate their treats before heading out the door for more, so be sure to let them know there are other options, like the candy buyback program that might make sweeten their Halloween weekend a bit more this year.
Great Smiles Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontists has two locations. Their Solana Beach office is located on Lomas Santa Fe Drive betwen Hilmen Drive and Nardo Avenue. Their Encinitas location is on Garden View Drive, just off of El Camino Real.
Help keep your young one’s mouth cavity free, win prizes and earn cash through the Great Smiles Halloween Candy Buyback. The Solana Beach location is participating on Thursday, November 6 and the Encinitas office is collecting candy Friday, November 7. Both offices are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children can stop by either day with their Halloween candy to sell for cash and help earn a donation for their school and pizza for their classmates.
