Students can walk or bike to the local elementary school, middle school and high school. The proximity of Highway 56 makes commuting to employment centers and downtown San Diego more convenient. And folks who call Greystone Torrey Highlands home can walk just across Camino Del Sur to get their morning coffee or meet friends for dinner.
This small neighborhood is part of the larger Torrey Highlands community, which has an average household net worth of $1,023,462 and an average household income of $146,564. A little more than 60% of people living here are married, nearly 30% have a graduate degree, and about 40% have a bachelors degree (point2homes.com).
Greystone Torrey Highlands Housing
Greystone Torrey Highlands is a family-friendly North County neighborhood with a homeowners association, just one entrance and homes located on cul-de-sacs. Home sizes and lot sizes vary throughout the neighborhood, and some homes have swimming pools or room for a pool. Many homes in the southern half of the community back up to open space.
I found one home for sale in Greystone Torrey Highlands at the time of this writing, which is a five bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, 3,372-square-foot home on the market at $928,000.

The Torrey Highland Apartments are located across Camino Del Sur from Greystone Torrey Highlands on Torrey Meadows Drive but are still generally considered part of the community. Torrey Highland Apartments offers two- and three-bedroom apartment homes with some amenities, such as a playground and clubhouse.
Greystone Torrey Highlands Restaurants & Shopping
On the other side of Camino Del Sur but still part of Greystone Torrey Highlands, you will find a small shopping center that is within walking distance of the apartments and single-family homes in the neighborhood. This small plaza is home to Subway, Fresco Urban Cafe, Cotija’s Taco Shop, Prodigy Dance Company and a dental office.
Across Highlands Plaza Place from Torrey Highland Apartments on Camino Del Sur is a another, larger shopping center that is also within walking distance from Greystone Torrey Highlands homes. Here you can get your morning caffeine at Peet’s Coffee, spend an afternoon at the salon or meet friends for dinner at one of several restaurants, including Luna Grill, Vittorio’s, Rubio’s, BT’s Southern BBQ and PizzaRev. You can also do your banking, mail packages, do your weekly grocery shopping and complete other errands at this conveniently close shopping center.
There is also the newer Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch nearby, which is home to Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Panera Bread, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Crudo, Dolce at the Highlands, Fresh Brothers, Westroot Tavern, fitness centers, healthcare providers, salons, boutiques and more.
Rancho Penasquitos is the closest spot for larger shopping centers with expanded offerings. This is where you will find Round Table Pizza, Jack in the Box, Pizza Hut, Bad Ass Coffee, Armstrong Gardens, a post office, Stater Bros., 24 Hour Fitness, and plenty of other options for shops and restaurants.
You can also make the short drive to 4S Ranch or Carmel Mountain Ranch for most of the well-known chains you might need to complete your errands, such as Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, Home Depot, Costco, Staples, Party City, Marshalls, Sprouts Farmers Market, Petco and Barnes & Noble. In Carmel Mountain Ranch, you will also find your nearest Claim Jumper, Olive Garden, The Habit, Islands, California Pizza Kitchen and Reading Cinemas Carmel Mountain 12 movie theater.
Greystone Torrey Highlands Parks & Recreation
Active folks will find this neighborhood to be perfectly located for easy access to hiking trails, parks, recreation centers, beaches, equestrian centers, country clubs and more. Community parks closest to Greystone Torrey Highlands include Rancho Peñasquitos Skate Park, Rancho Peñasquitos Linear Dog Park, Torrey Del Mar Neighborhood Park, Adobe Bluffs Neighborhood Park, Twin Trails Neighborhood Park, Hilltop Community Park, Views West Park and Canyonside Community Park. For community fitness classes, summer camps, gymnastics, and youth and senior programming, there are several recreation centers within a short drive, including Rancho Family YMCA, Rancho Peñasquitos Tennis Center, Canyonside Recreation Center, Hilltop Recreation Center and Black Mountain Multipurpose Center.
For those who prefer a country club setting for their social activities and sports, there are plenty of options close to the community, including Del Mar Country Club, The Santaluz Club, The Farms Golf Club, Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, Bay Club Carmel Valley, Morgan Run Club & Resort, The Grand Golf Club, Rancho Valencia Spa & Tennis Resort and Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club.

Greystone Torrey Highlands Schools
The award-winning Poway Unified School District serves public school students living in Greystone Torrey Highlands. Students who grow up here can enjoy walking or riding their bike to school every year, since Deer Canyon Elementary School, Mesa Verde Middle School and Westview High School are all in close proximity to the neighborhood. Deer Canyon Elementary School is a couple of blocks from the eastern edge of the neighborhood, Mesa Verde Middle School is adjacent to the community to the east, and Westview High School is just to the north across Camino Del Sur. Camino Del Sur is a busier thoroughfare, but there is a separate, paved path running alongside it.
Recent graduates and adult learners can continue their education by taking community college classes at the Rancho Peñasquitos location of Palomar College.
Private school options within driving distance include The Cambridge School, Halstrom Academy, The Nativity School, Horizon Prep, San Diego Jewish Academy, Cathedral Catholic High School, Diegueno Country School, Lifetime Montessori School and Christ the Cornerstone Academy.

Greystone Torrey Highlands is part of the larger Torrey Highlands community and is at the border between Torrey Highlands and Rancho Peñasquitos. It is immediately south of Westview High School, west of Mesa Verde Middle School, and north and east of Highway 56.
The neighborhood is accessed from Camino Del Sur, and homes in Greystone Torrey Highlands are located on Torrey Gardens Place, Torrey Park Terrace, Torrey Arbor Lane, Deer Canyon Place, Trailhead Place, Torrey Crest Court and Stage Coach Place.
