Seasalt Del Mar

Veladora at Rancho Valencia hosts an upscale brunch inspired by seasonal flavors. The atmosphere is lush with a hacienda feel and valley views. Tio Leo’s is a casual American-Mexican restaurant that is family friendly and located just east of Hwy 5. While garnering a lot of it’s business from the surrounding restaurants, Tio Leo’s also has a loyal local following. Located at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, Amaya is an upscale restaurant in a beautiful location with great service. If you are looking for a fancier, quieter brunch, this is your place. The menu has Salads, Pastas, Burgers, Pizzas, and Benedicts. Davanti Enoteca Del Mar

Davanti Enoteca is a rustic Italian restaurant that walks the line between casual and elegant; it’s a great place for date night or a casual weekend hangout. Their brunch features a fantastic Bloody Mary Bar with house pickled vegetables, a large selection of hot sauces, and BACON. If you’re not a Bloody Mary fan, there is a Bubbles Bar where you can personalize Prosecco with fresh squeezed juices. A popular inland Del Mar spot, Searsucker is designed to be the place where you want to hang out with friends, listen to live music, and stay. Just off Hwy 101 in Encinitas, The Third Corner is a quaint bistro with a wine shop integrated into the ambience. Brunch has an a la carte menu for $13.95, add in bottomless mimosas for $24.95. This vibrant space, in the shape of a T-Bone, has been around since the 40’s. Originally a Steakhouse, the owners have kept the original integrity of this historic building, while updating the menu and vibe for now. Inspired by beer, the Bier Garden not only has 32 tap handles from SoCal, but also infuses beer into their dishes. The Roxy Encinitas is a Coast Highway staple. Remodeled with a new menu, The Roxy features live music almost daily. The brunch menu is small (eggs, pancakes, bagels) and includes Bottomless Mimosas for $25. Standouts include: Breakfast Mac & Cheese (gouda, bacon, cheddar, herbed brioche bread crumbs), and Everything but the Kitchen Sink (24 oz Bloody Mary, topped with: lemon, lime, olive, pickle, pepperoncini, onion, celery, cheeseburger slider, buffalo chicken tender, shrimp, thick cut pepper bacon, and served with a mini miller high life).

Part of the new Open House project in Encinitas, The Crafty Egg serves brunch all day, 7 days a week. The Crafty Egg has all the favorite brunch staples and adds some great twists to classics. Located at the Cape Rey Hilton Resort, Chandler’s has a friendly atmosphere that welcomes tourists and locals alike. Patios overlook Hwy 101 to the coast, making it a great brunch spot, either indoors or outdoors.  Traditional brunch menu accompanied by: King Salmon BLT and Lobster & Shrimp Benedict.

Ignite Bistro & Wine Spot

With a great view of inland Carlsbad, Ignite is always buzzing with people. The whole place has a great ambiance and friendly feel. Sunday Brunch has bottomless mimosas from 10am-3pm with live music featured during that time, from 11am-2pm. Beach Plum uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients in simple, delicious dishes. A local favorite, Beach Plum is popular for its gluten-free pancakes and freshly made jams. Green Dragon Tavern

This unique restaurant doubles as an American history museum. The Tavern is an homage to the original Green Dragon in Boston. With patrons such as Samuel Adams and Paul Revere, the original Tavern is considered the birthplace of the American Revolution. Sunday Brunch features a traditional menu with the addition of flatbreads, lobster rolls, and all day Happy Hour.

Part of the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort, Twenty/20 offers great views and a lovely patio with a cozy fireplace. A casual, friendly atmosphere makes Twenty/20 a go-to spot. Enjoy live music with a flight of Mimosas with six different flavors ($17), or a Deconstructed Bloody Mary (Green Chile vodka, tomato water, cracker pepper, limes, candied bacon, horseradish, olive - $10). Located at the Crossings of Carlsbad Golf Course, The Canyons has a large dining room and big patio overlooking southern Carlsbad and the ocean. On Sundays The Canyon hosts a Bottomless Champagne Brunch Buffet. The buffet features rotating breakfast and lunch options with fresh fruit displays, carving stations, omelette station, pastries, salads, eggs, bacon and more.

The Compass is a cozy Gastropub tucked into Carlsbad Village Faire.  Popular with locals and tourists alike, this quaint space can fill up quickly. Cafe Topes is a quaint cafe that serves American food with a modern twist. Order first at the counter before finding your seat. A local fave, this place gets popular (especially on weekends), but the service is usually quick so the wait isn’t too long. Favorites include: Crack ‘n Benedict (hollandaise, poached eggs, Cardiff “Crack”, English muffin), C.T. The Coyote Bar is a local favorite in Carlsbad Village Faire. Catering to a more mature crowd, Coyote has a great patio with fire pits and karaoke or live music. Very popular on weekends, expect a lively crowd for their “Guilty Pleasures” Weekend Brunch, which features bottomless champagne and live music. Al’s Cafe in the Village

A classic diner, Al’s Cafe is a community favorite. Breakfast starts at 6:30 am daily and features bottomless Mimosas every day! Kids under 10 also eat free (with the purchase of an entree). Hennessey’s is an Irish Pub in the heart of Carlsbad Village. Front and back patios, a friendly staff and lots of locals make this place a great place to spend the afternoon. Find down-home cooking at this popular south Oceanside diner. At Don’s enjoy brunch 7 days a week with an extensive menu that is family friendly (Kids eat for under $7 and the Senior menu is under $9). Don’s also offers several drink specials, order your first Mimosa for only $2.95, the second for only $4.95, upgrade to a Man-mosa for $6.95, or try a flight for $7.95. Don’s Famous Bloody Mary’s are handmade to order and are served with bacon and a chili-salt rim.

A classic steakhouse, Hunter specializes in Prime Rib. Sunday Brunch is straightforward and features Prime Rib & Eggs, as well as the classic Steak & Eggs. The big draw to this brunch is $4 bottomless champagne!

Opened by the Dwelley family in 1988, the Beach Break Cafe has been an Oceanside favorite for almost 30 years. Brunch is served from 7am to 2pm daily. The classic menu has omelettes, pancakes, burgers and more. Excellent food service, and high food quality fuel Beach Break’s popularity and there is typically a wait.

A local favorite, LTH seems to be energized by the crowd. The Local Tap House has a large tap selection, great craft cocktails, and a New American menu. Originally a Drag Car Shop, Masters Kitchen & Cocktail has worked the original industrial flair in their concept. The large open space provides the perfect stage for Master’s New American Menu and Craft Cocktails. Menu standouts include: Carnitas Mac N’ Cheese (green chilies, diced tomato, queso fundido, micro cilantro), Chilaquiles Verde (slow cooked pork, eggs, cotija cheese, tortilla chips, roasted tomatillo salsa), and the Chicken & Waffles (rosemary waffle, fried chicken breast, smoked bacon & chicken apple sausage gravy, eggs).

The Hello Betty Fish House is just up from the beach, in Oceanside. The menu is a twist on SoCal cuisine with fish tacos, margaritas and much more. Brunch highlights include: Half Pint Mexican Seafood Cocktail (mussels, clams, octopus, shrimp, fish, spicy citrus cocktail sauce), Carnitas Benny (citrus tequila marinated carnitas, chipotle hollandaise), Baja Bagel & Lox (toasted bagel, lox, red onion, Fresno chili, roasted jalapeno cream cheese, tomato, cilantro, white balsamic & chili oil).

Harney Sushi is a modern sushi bar in Oceanside. Just East of the Ocean this is a popular hangout for tourists and locals alike. Harney’s take on Sunday brunch is to offer their delicious menu items and add bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys (at the bar) for $10.

Mission Avenue Bar & Grill has become an Oceanside staple. The drafts are all California brewed, they feature over 180 Whiskeys, and the menu is New American. Brunch is popular and is the most crowded during the game. The brunch menu is limited with a mix of benedicts, scrambles, Mexican dishes and french toast.

Just up from the Strand, Johnny Mananas is a simple Mexican spot, with counter service and a quaint patio. The menu, ranging from breakfast to burgers, is all under $10! They also have $5 Bloody Marys and Micheladas,  and $4.75 Mimosas, Margaritas and Tamarindas.

Petite Madeline is a quaint bistro just west of the Oceanside Pier. The menu has several options including Crepes, Benedicts, and Quiche. Weekends feature brunch specials that are ever changing. A local favorite for brunch, Petite Madeline has an inviting and warm atmosphere.

If you didn’t guess, the Breakfast Club diner is inspired by the 80’s. Decor, music, and menu trivia are all seeped in that decade. The Breakfast Club Diner is a local family favorite. The menu is a classic diner with extensive Waffle, Pancake, and French Toast selections.

333 Pacific

A member of the Cohn Restaurant Group, 333 Pacific has spectacular ocean views and an upscale menu. Open at 11:30 am every day, 333 Pacific doesn’t have a dedicated weekend brunch, but has a section of the menu labeled “Feels like Brunch”. Even though it’s limited, the selections are interesting: Chicken and Waffles (buttermilk fried mary's free range chicken, buttermilk waffle, maple butter, sambal honey hot sauce, smoked peppercorn infused maple syrup, dried rosemary), Maple Cured Lox (house cured salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onion, lettuce, tomato, and toasted artisan bacon bread), and Wild Boar Chilaquiles (Texas wild boar barbacoa, tortilla, tomato salsa, cotija, sunny side egg, red onion, avocado crema).

Overlooking the Oceanside Harbor, Stratford is popular with the locals as well as tourists. The view provides a wonderful backdrop for the solid menu. The breakfast menu is straightforward and lunch features plenty of seafood options.
