Pet-Friendly Hotels San Diego North County

Sometimes you don’t want to leave your pet at home. We get it. And San Diego, with its dog-friendly beaches, bars, and restaurants makes it easy to travel with your pet. Thankfully, numerous San Diego hotels also offer guests the option of bringing their dog or cat. Here are San Diego hotels throughout North County that welcome pets.

(Del Mar to Oceanside)

West Inn and Suites

Looking for a boutique hotel to pamper you and your pet? West Inn offers nice accommodations and a complimentary breakfast. For Fido, expect a pet bed, water, and food bowls, treats and more. There’s also a pet run on West Inn grounds and a dog park next to the hotel.

Pet Details: The hotel charges $75 per night for a maximum charge of $150 for two nights, with your pet staying free of charge from the third night forward. They request that pets not be left unattended in your room and there are no size restrictions.

Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa

Sheraton Carlsbad offers the perks of a big hotel and a pet-friendly policy so you can travel with your best friend. Complimentary high-speed internet access comes with all reservations, and the hotel offers free (limited) shuttle service to the surrounding area. Special dog beds and welcome kits with local pet info and supplies are also provided.

Pet Details: The Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa accepts dogs only up to 80 lbs. with no more than one dog per room. The hotel requests that dogs be with owners at all times. The hotel has the option to charge a cleaning fee after the room has been evaluated upon guest departure. Guests must sign pet-waiver upon check-in and will be charged a pet fee of $35 per day.

San Diego Marriott Del Mar

The San Diego Marriott Del Mar is located in Carmel Valley near the I-5 and 56 freeways for easy access to San Diego attractions.

Pet Details: A non-refundable $100 cleaning fee is assessed for all pets.

Hilton San Diego Del Mar

The Hilton Del Mar sits across the street from the famous racetrack and if you want to explore more, you can take the hotel’s complimentary shuttle to San Diego locations within a five-mile radius of the Hilton.

Pet Details: The hotel assesses a $75.00 non-refundable pet fee for dogs weighing 75 lbs. or less. Look for a dog run and waste stations on site across the street from the racetrack.

Hotel Indigo

This lovely hotel welcomes pets and those who want to be close to all the beach action. The hotel features two outdoor swimming pools and is close to the ocean.

Pet Details: There’s a $75 non-refundable pet fee for guests and pets may not be left alone in guest rooms.

Econo Lodge Encinitas

Econo Lodge Encinitas is located on Coast Highway just two blocks from scenic and family-friendly Moonlight Beach and a few minutes from major attractions like LEGOLAND. You’ll also enjoy free parking, a free deluxe continental breakfast which includes fruits, cereals, bagels, juice and coffee until 9:00am and newly-renovated guest rooms with 37-inch plasma TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, granite vanities.

Pet Details: One pet per room is allowed at an extra $25 per night. There is a weight limit of 40 pounds and under.

Encinitas Inn and Suites

Three blocks from Moonlight Beach, Encinitas Inn overlooks the shoreline and serves a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast every morning.

Pet Details: Guest pay a $20 a night charge for a pet-friendly room, or a $250 one-time charge for non-pet room.

La Quinta Inn Oceanside

A budget hotel providing excellent value for the money, La Quinta is located near Oceanside Harbor and offers amenities like free breakfast and free WiFi in every room. Note that the hotel doesn’t have a pool.

Pet Details: There’s a small pet relieving area. Cats are ok to bring. Guests are assessed additional fees only if the pet damages something.

Residence Inn San Diego Oceanside

Residence Inns cater to extended-stay travelers with modern suites, fully equipped kitchens and free daily breakfasts.

Pet Details: Pets are allowed with a $100 non-refundable fee.

Pet-Friendly Hotels: North County San Diego Inland

(Rancho Bernardo to Escondido)

Inn at Rancho Santa Fe

The gorgeous and lushly landscaped The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe features accommodations ranging from guest rooms and suites to individual cottages.

Pet Details: There is a one-time pet cleaning fee of $125 for dogs 100 pounds or under. Pets must be leashed or held in arms in all common areas of the hotel. All pets receive luxurious in-room beds, food and water bowls, and a welcome gift.

Residence Inn San Marcos

This Marriott extended-stay location offers free hotel-wide Wi-Fi, a daily hot breakfast buffet, and evening mixer receptions (M-W). To boot, TripAdvisor reviewers voted it as the #1 hotel in San Marcos with the 2016 Certificate of Excellence.

Pet Details: Pets are welcome with a non-refundable fee of $100.

Residence Inn San Diego Rancho Bernardo Scripps Poway

Located right off the 15 freeway just north of Scripps Ranch, this Marriott extended-stay location offers separate living and sleeping areas and fully equipped kitchens. You’ll also get wireless high-speed internet, hot complimentary full breakfast buffet, an outdoor pool and much more. The hotel is also in the same shopping center as several restaurants.

Pet Details: Pets are welcome with a non-refundable fee of $100.

Residence Inn San Diego Carmel Mountain Ranch

This location’s large apartment-like suites feature fully equipped kitchens and separate spaces to work, relax and eat. Free Wi-Fi and large workspaces are also included as well as the complimentary hot breakfast.

Pet Details: Pets are welcome with a non-refundable fee of $100.
