North County is making some big moves lately. It makes me feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this amazing community. From neighborhood events that benefit local foundations to new places opening up, to change of ownership, we are all looking to make our section of San Diego the BEST place to live.
Below, you’ll get to check out what Master French Chef Patrick Ponsaty is up to, news about the second location of an urban winery opening up in Carlsbad, the new ownership of a bar in Oceanside, and two upcoming events that benefit our neighborhood. And all of this is #NorthoftheMerge. Lucky us!
Rancho Sante Fe is set to celebrate the opening of Ponsaty’s this week and it couldn’t be a more beautiful week for it. Headed by one of San Diego’s most beloved chefs, Patrick Ponsaty, doors will open Tuesday, July 26 for lunch and dinner. Ponsaty’s goal is to have a family-friendly atmosphere, fine for children and even four-legged friends on the patio.
You can expect a French-influenced menu prepared with local produce and seafood, live music on the patio, signature cocktails, more than 50 Scotch choices, and over 300 wines.
Master French Chef Patrick Ponsaty has run some of the finest restaurants around San Diego and will continue to be involved in the critically acclaimed Bellamy’s in Escondido.
I would recommend getting on the interest list for reservations ASAP ([email protected])
North County residents have reason to rejoice now that the second location of Carruth Cellars is open for business on State Street. They’re still currently under some construction, but you can come by for their soft opening every day from 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. with grand opening festivities in the works.
Carruth Cellars is an urban winery specializing in California style wines. We source quality grapes from premium vineyards in Northern & Central California, transport them by truck, and make our wine with love & gratitude by the beach!
Oceanside welcomes the new owners of Firewater with open arms. As local area residents, Alicia and Travis Breton, have worked in the bar and restaurant industry for over 20 years. They’re excited to be a part of the revitalization of the Downtown Oceanside area and are proud to be working along side the other local businesses who are bringing a new energy to the area.
Recognizing that there was a shortage of live music venues in the North County area, Firewater was purchased with the #1 goal in mind to provide a great destination for live music and dancing.
They recently remodeled the main floor area and built out a new stage area for live bands and DJs. Plus, they added in a new sound system to give their clientele a great music experience during live performances.
What else are they offering up?
You’ve got to go check out the change! They’ve done a great job updating the atmosphere and making it a welcoming place for all.
