Fun on The Coaster: Wine Tour by Train

Wine Tour on The Coaster

Even if you’re not a hard core oenophile, wine tours are always a fun excursion with friends. The usual concern is safely getting around from tasting to tasting. You could rent a limo, or…

You could jump aboard the Wine Train!

That’s right… the same Coaster that takes you to work and meetings downtown can also take you to some really fun wine stops in North County! Put on by San Diego Beer and Wine Tours (yes, they offer beer tours, too!), this fun little jaunt down the coast let’s you enjoy worry-free wine tasting with friends!

WINE, FOOD, FUN!

Tour expert and entertainment guides meet groups at Carlsbad Village Station in downtown Carlsbad and from there take wine tasters on a 5-hour adventure. The tour begins with a light luncheon at a partner location — every tour, a different location — after which attendees enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery traveling by rail to the next several stops. Along the way, the knowledgeable guides delight you with historical information on the short walks (jaunts are no more than 15 minute at a time) to scheduled stops for tastings, as well as wine & cheese and wine & chocolate pairings. Folks on the tour will taste about 15 different wines, with optional brewery stops for beer lovers at no additional cost.

TOUR STOPS

On the Wine and Beer Train Tour, attendees go to boutique and urban wineries, as well as an optional brewery stop. The stops are fully operational urban wineries (not the vineyards where grapes are grown). The tour takes folks from Carlsbad and as far south as downtown San Diego. Locations on the Wine Tour stops change throughout the year, so it’s never the same tour twice! Details of each tour are sent to attendees ahead of the tour via email.
