The Heights at Carmel Valley was originally an apartment home complex built in 2000 and known as Monarch at Carmel Valley. The complex was sold in 2004, and the conversion to condominiums began the following year.

I found just one condo for sale in The Heights at Carmel Valley at the time of this writing, which is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,201-square-foot unit with a den listed at $529,999.
There is a homeowners association with dues that cover exterior building maintenance, maintenance of common areas and amenities, sewer, water and trash collection.
The Heights at Carmel Valley Shops & Restaurants
Residents of The Heights at Carmel Valley can walk or ride their bikes to Del Mar Highlands Town Center where they can enjoy the latest release at Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas, grab breakfast at Einstein Brothers Bagels, or treat themselves to an afternoon of pampering at the hair, nails or tanning salons. This is where most residents will go to find their everyday essentials at Ralph’s, Jimbo’s…Naturally!, The UPS Store, Rite Aid, Unleashed by Petco, FedEx Office and, of course, Starbucks.
You will find lots of shops, services and restaurants here, including Papyrus, Bath & Body Works, Jamba Juice, Panda Express, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill, Casa Sol y Mar, Snooze an A.M. Eatery, Searsucker and Urban Plates.
You will find even more options in the adjacent shopping center, which is home to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill, Katana Sushi, Oggi’s and VCA Pacific Petcare Animal Hospital.
If you drive or ride your bike down Carmel Creek Road to where it intersects with Valley Centre Drive, you will come to Piazza Carmel. Here you will find Torrey Pines Animal Hospital, Griffin Ace Hardware, Souplantation, Spices Thai Cafe, Nico’s Taco Shop, Gami Sushi, Royal India, Got Tannins, Dean Reinmuth Golf School, PostalAnnex+ and Vons.
The Heights at Carmel Valley Parks & Recreation
Within the condo complex, residents and their guests can enjoy a swimming pool, spa and fitness center. There are also the nearby beaches of Del Mar and Solana Beach, and several parks within a short drive, including Carmel Mission Park, Carmel Grove Park, Solana Highlands Park, Carmel Del Mar Park, Overlook Park and Carmel Creek Neighborhood Park.
For some excellent extracurricular activities for families with children, the Youth Arts Academy is just a short walk from The Heights on Mykonos Lane. Youth programming offered at the academy includes music, dance, acting and photography. Co-located with the academy is the Carmel Valley, Polster Branch of the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito, which offers gymnastics, fitness classes, martial arts, tutoring and after school programs.
Just a bit farther away at 3777 Townsgate Drive, Carmel Valley Community Park & Recreation Center offers tennis courts, two playgrounds, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, picnic areas with barbecue grills, indoor multipurpose courts, an amphitheater, a game room and more. The recreation center also offers a wide variety of programming, including youth sports, dance, gymnastics, martial arts and acting for youth, as well as yoga, fitness classes and sports leagues for adults.
Residents can spend an afternoon on the green at Torrey Pines Golf Course or The Grand Golf Club and at nearby country clubs, including Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, Del Mar Country Club, Lomas Santa Fe Country Club, Morgan Run Club & Resort and The Farms Golf Club.

The Heights at Carmel Valley Schools
Public school students living in The Heights at Carmel Valley are served by the Del Mar Union School District and the San Dieguito Union High School District. Parents can walk their younger children to school at Carmel Del Mar Elementary, and Carmel Valley Middle School is located just to the west of the neighborhood. Most students will then attend Torrey Pines High School, which is north of the neighborhood and just a short drive or bike ride away.

The Heights at Carmel Valley is located at the junction of Carmel Creek Road and Carmel Country Road. It is east of Carmel Middle School, south of Del Mar Highlands Town Center, north of Verona and west of Carmel Country Road.
There are two entrances to the community: the main gate located on Carmel Country Road and another entrance located on Mykonos Lane.
