North County residents have been patiently waiting for Urban Plates to open its doors at The Forum in Carlsbad, but the wait is finally over…of course there’s typically a small wait when you head in around lunch time since the Urban Plates menu is worth waiting for.
Urban Plates has created quite a buzz among residents near the other Southern California locations in Del Mar and in Irvine. North County residents don’t have to travel quite so far for the same farm fresh experience now that this newest location is finally open.
Urban Plates uses local farms to provide the fresh produce and ingredients found on its menu, with colorful and flavorful dishes that appeal to foodies looking for healthy and sustainable foods.
Whether you sit down to eat at their community tables or pick up food to take home, you will enjoy the great selection of salads, sandwiches and entrees including a healthy menu for kids you’ll be happy to provide your little ones.
Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten free options are available, as well as regional wines, maine root natural soda and local craft beers. Organic coffee is served up fresh every morning and the slow cooked curry or braises will warm you up during these winter months.
Take a peek at the Urban Plates YouTube channel to get a feel for how the ordering system works and the customized plates you can create when you’re there.
